The “Forest Road”, located in the Metropolitan Cemetery of Roques Blanques, in El Papiol (Barcelona), is the project for which Naturalea has received the European soil and water bioengineering award ECOMEDBIO EFIB to the best excecuted performance with soil bioengineering techniques.

Naturalea collaborated with Batlle i Roig Arquitectura in this project and later carried out the winning execution: a Krainer crib wall of 95m of lenght.

The “Forest Road” consist of a group of burials that allows to bury biodegradable urns of natural wood with the ashes of the deceased in the cemetery of Roques Blanques, which re-defines the traditional model of burial and incinerations, applying respectful criteria with the environament, using innovative constructive solutions and guaranteeing a sustainable and integrated action within the Collserola Natural Park.

Within the current context of global change, human activities are a major cause of degradation of streams and rivers.
And to better understand the multiple effects, we are working in the Urban River Lab (URL) to develop new tools and strategies to improve its quality.
An outdoor laboratory located near Barcelona with 18 channels and 12 wetlands designed for experimental practices, fed by treated water from the effluent of a wastewater treatment plant.
